HEAR Now Festival Director
Festival Director Larry the O has worked on many sides of the audio industry, including audio post-production for TV and film, album recording, video games, technical and marketing positions for leading audio hardware manufacturers, software product management, live sound, publishing, and industrial sound design. His production credits range from Errol Morris’ “The Thin Blue Line” to the Gumby TV series, and numerous games from LucasArts Entertainment and Electronic Arts, but the O also has been a leading writer on audio and music technology for nearly 35 years, including as a contributing editor to Mix and Electronic Musician magazines, a monthly columnist for the British Sound on Sound magazine, and the author of two instructional books on music software published by Hal Leonard. The O was awarded a degree in Music Production, Summa Cum Laude, from Berklee College of Music and presented Berklee’s Distinguished Alumni Award. Since 2009, he has operated out of his Studio Faire la Nouba facility in Vallejo, California. The O’s production company, Toys In the Attic, currently produces Ears Hear Now, a show that applies a cinematic scoring approach to storytelling. The show’s first two episodes were Platinum Selections at the 2017 and 2019 HEAR Now Festivals.
