Russell McGee received his Masters in TV/Film Production at Indiana University, in 2013 and his Bachelors in Theatre from Indiana State University, in 2001. Trained as a Meisner actor under Elaine Schatzline-Behr and trained as a Director/Editor under Robby Benson.
His awards include but are not limited to Nominee Writer - Program 2019 NATAS Lower Great Lakes Emmy Awards, Nominee Producer, Writer, & Editor in Children's Programming 2018 NATAS Lower Great Lakes Emmy Awards, Nominee Producer in Music Composition 2018 NATAS Lower Great Lakes Emmy Awards, Winner of the Best Vocal Direction 2019 Audio Verse Awards, Winner of the Audience Favorite Bronze 2019 HEAR Now Festival, Nominee Best Audio Adaptation in the 18th Annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards.
Russell has been directing and producing for twenty-six years. He currently works as the On-air Promotions Producer at WTIU/WFIU, produced the full-cast audio play series The Ernie Pyle Experiment for WFIU, teaches Sound Design at Indiana University, has written multiple Doctor Who short stories, and is a sound designer for Big Finish Productions LTD on their Doctor Who full-cast audio dramas.
